Keep in mind that the colour of the Dye bottle may look like you want it, but that it looks different on each armour set.

Example: I had to use 3 oranges and 1 red to make my 1.5 plain mesmer attire look "normal" red. On Noble attires, it's close to orange.

Same for other mixes. Red and dye remover may look pink, but on mesmer attire it becomes army green.

So unless someone posts samples of all mixes on all equipments, the mix chart is but a very rough estimation.
